Introducing...Ella B. Collection!

Have you ever looked at an old family photo and wished you could dress out of your great-grandmother's jewelry box? Inspired by the unique personalities of each of my great-grandmothers, the Ella B. Collection brings vintage style to the modern lady. Ella, Mandy, Blanche, Dolly & Connie were amazing women that brought their own flair to fashion. Their beauty was timeless, and so is their memory. This line is meant  to inspire you to think about your your great-grandmother, your grandmother or your favorite person that has inspired your style, and bring that back to your wardrobe. (and of course bring back all of your memories of that special lady!)

The name of this line, the Ella B. Collection, is named of course after one of my great-grandmothers in particular. I was lucky enough to inherit some of her costume jewelry when she passed away. Each and every time I wear one of her pieces, I always seem to be complemented on it and of course I feel like she is close to my heart. I envision that these earrings, which are the first piece to this collection, would have been in each of my great-grandmothers' jewelry boxes. Each fabric that was chosen for these hand crafted button earrings, represents each of them, their sassy personality, where they came from, or a special memory I hold of them. May you enjoy wearing them just as much as I enjoy making them! So without further ado...Ella, Mandy, Blanch, Dolly & Connie!

Be Unique!

When I go shopping, I am always on the lookout for something different. I usually am not the type of person to follow a trend or buy something because "everyone else has it." Plainly, if I like it I buy it. I prefer to shop at small boutiques, small town shoppes, mom & pop stores and places where things are one of a kind. My favorite places are those where there is an eclectic mix of things, homewares, accessories, clothing, jewelry, shoes and art. I also find that sometimes I set out looking for something specific and cannot find what I am looking for no matter how hard I look. Which makes me think, it's because it doesn't exist! It is most likely something I will have to make or design myself. As a designer I try not to limit myself to just one artform, whether it be painting or drawing, or knitting and creating jewelry, art is a form of self expression. And, I find it extremely satisfying to be able to make something that you can wear! Creating the pieces that you wear can bring out your personality, and most importantly it makes you unique. With this in mind, check out my latest creation...these studs are cute and feminine but just quirky enough, oh yeah and perfect for Spring & Summer!.

30th Birthday Party!

Anthony's 30th Birthday Party was created with a Crown Royal Theme, the invitations arrived in a purple velvet pouch just like his favorite brand of whisky, and the invitation was designed as set of coasters that mimicked a Crown Royal label. Matching luminaries along with a Crown Royal Cake, custom framed menus and old world theme were used to create a great look and feel. Invitations and luminaries are shown below.

Moo...not just a sound that cows make.

For all of my design work I use my high end printers. But when it comes to things like my Christmas Cards and usually projects that I do for myself, I tend to want something quick and simple. This is probably a sign that I don't make time for my own projects and am usually working on everyone elses! Anyhow, a designer friend of mine recommended a website that you can upload your own design work to for basic pieces such as greeting cards, post cards and stickers. The turn around time is pretty quick and the quality is supposed to be good! So, for my Christmas Cards...I decided to try it. The website is called Moo...check it out here, http://www.moo.com/share/8m7znj

For designers like me, you are able to upload your own designs. But, if you are not a designer you can select from predesigned pieces as well and add your own text to their templates through their design tool. Pretty easy, right? With their greeting cards you get free white envelopes and for a small fee you can select a custom color. I chose to do something different this year and opted for a postcard style. Because I like to send my postcards in an envelope, I purchased envelopes separately all in one place. My cards are scheduled to arrive on the 13th of December. Once they mail, I will post the design and the finished product for you to see. I also sent my Mom's Cards there too! So let's keep our fingers crossed! MOO!
